Supporting School Readiness WIth Heavy

Heavy work refers to activities that push or pull against the body or involve carrying. Heavy work strengthens and maintains the proprioceptive system by offering resistance to joints, muscles, and connective tissues. Supporting school readiness with heavy work is easy–just make sure kids have ample opportunity to engage in active play involving pulling, pushing, digging, carrying, hanging, and other physically challenging activities.
