Wooden I Beams are also known as plywood I beams and wooden I joists. They are used in construction and valued for their strength and light weight in comparison to steel beams or solid wood. As loose parts, they are great for building and as dramatic play props. They can be purchased new from your local lumberyard, or you can reach out to an area construction company and let them know you’d be interested in acquiring scrap I beams.
