Crying is your baby’s first language. She uses it to let you know when she is hungry, tired, or uncomfortable. Maybe she’s too hot, too cold, or her Onesie is irritating her. She may cry when she’s overstimulated, has gas, or startles from a loud sound. She may cry to release tension before falling off to sleep. It’s not your task to stop the crying or to shorten its duration, but do try to understand why your baby is crying so that you can respond accurately.
