Whistles

Whistles as loose parts in an early learning play environment? Isn’t that likely to get loud and then annoyingly loud, and then please-make-it-stop loud?

Yes. Yes, it is.

Annoying as they may be, especially in quantity, these sonic blasters still offer plenty of learning opportunities. Whistle-enabled children may hone their auditory discrimination, build self-regulation skills, invent games with their peers, compose songs, and more.

The adults can always wear earplugs (affiliate link).
