My own observations…suggest that where practitioners are most anxious about their ability to support and extend war, weapon and superhero play they have generally given less active support to imaginative play, particularly outside and particularly for boys. The issue then seems to be less about war, weapon and superhero play in particular and more about imaginative play in general.
