Tongs

Tongs are amazing technology if you happen to be a curious child interested in picking stuff up. Scroll down and looks at the face of the photo of the child in purple if you doubt how exciting these things can be.

Tongs consist of a pair of levers (classic simple machines) with pivot points at one end or along their axis. These tools help kids develop a variety of physical and cognitive skills. They can also promote language development since they are likely to spark questions and new vocabulary. And social skills! Waiting your turn to use the ones with the blue hands builds self-regulation, for example.
