The turkey exercise, and so many others like it, reflects a limited view of children’s creativity derived from an adult-imposed agenda (often based on the school calendar and adult conceptions of adorableness) rather than a teacher’s knowledge of what her individual students are capable of thinking and doing at a particular developmental stage.
