Stanford University psychology professor and Mindset author Carol Dweck divides people into one of two mindsets: fixed or growth. A person with a fixed mindset believes that intelligence, talent, or ability are innate, and remain the same throughout life, no matter what he does. A person with a growth mindset, however, believes that these qualities are simply a starting point, that more is always possible through effort and personal development.
