For overstressed, overworked parents, it would be a god-send if babies really did benefit from the myriad videos and computer programs claiming to educate them. The problem is that they don’t. There is no credible evidence that screen media is educational or beneficial in any way for babies and toddlers. Everything we know about how our youngest children learn points away from screens to what they do naturally—engage with the people who love them best and explore the world around them with all five of their senses.
