With thoughtful adult supervision to assure safety, rubber bands can be used by kids ranging in age from toddlerhood to school age in a wide range of ways. These colorful bands of stretchiness facilitate everything from small muscle control to an understanding of geometric shapes. Kids can sort them in multiple ways, use them in their creative creations, shoot them across a room, and (my favorite) use them to propel other objects across a room.
