The 6-Tier Programming Consistency Hierarchy illustrates the continuous line between an early learning setting’s vision statement and daily practices. Ideally, day-to-day happenings directly relate to the program’s vision, mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures. That’s not always the case. Inconsistencies can arise. Somewhere along the line, harmony can break down. In such cases, effort should be devoted to locating where the breakdown occurred on the hierarchy and figuring out a fix.
