About Non-Traditional Hour Child Care
Non-Traditional Hour Child Care is child care that operates during hours beyond the traditional Monday-Friday 7 am to 6 pm model. Such care may take place in center or family based programs that operate beyond the traditional operating hours or it may take place is facilities that only operate during non-traditional hours.
Such programs generally operate nights and weekends to accommodate parent work schedules. Some programs offer non-traditional hour care on special occasions such as a monthly parent’s night out on a weeknight evening or Saturday care so parents can shop during the holidays.
