You make so many great insights into how early childhood practitioners can best interact with young children. Instead of us looking at what other practitioners are doing wrong, let us teach them what to do right! How do we best do that? Early childhood practitioners are in dyer need of how to use these strategies! They need to see positive examples of how these interactions work best! It has been my experience that early childhood practitioners are coming out of school with a lack of understanding of child development or don’t have the appropriate education to teach in the early childhood field.

When we know better, we do better, but I don’t think early practitioners know better. because they have not been adequately taught!! You hit the nail on the head. We don’t teach practitioners to look at where the behavior is coming from and how to help the child process the feelings. All behavior is communication, but preservice teachers are still being taught rewards and punishment and not social emotional learning!
