“They need structure to make sure they learn” is the sentiment expressed over and over again in response to child-led learning. The hard truth? It’s generally the adults who need that structure, not the kids. Adult-led learning comes from an adult perspective. A child’s understanding comes from a child’s perspective. We cannot continue to discount their perspective in favor of what is most convenient for us.
