This is a fundamental overview of Montessori’s 4 Planes Of Development. The 4 planes (Infancy, Childhood, Adolescence, and Maturity) provide a theoretical foundation for the play-based Montessori Method and outline her thoughts on how children develop. Infancy and Childhood are referred to as the “help me do for myself” planes and Adolescence and Maturity are thought of as the “help me think for myself” planes.
