As-is or transformed, pool noodles are delightfully versatile loose parts. Plus, they’re inexpensive and readily available. Shake your Magic 8 Ball and ask, “Will kids find fun and creative things to do with pool noodles?” and it will undoubtedly answer, “All signs point to Yes.” Provide some tape, a pair of scissors (or a knife), and some other odds and ends, and kids will transform them into everything from ramps to lightsabers to hippocamps. They’re also a great addition to rough and tumble play.
