For some children play is a challenge, play, even of a basic kind, may be slow to develop, or the play may remain in an emergent form. Very often, sensitive awareness by people and the careful introduction of objects, music and movement can open up the play, even when such development seemed unlikely. It is of central importance that adults working with children with multi disabilities and complex needs rise to such challenges.
