As adults we need to be willing to make the sacrifices necessary to ensure that all children in our community will be able to have what they need: proper medical treatment; food, clothing, and shelter; opportunities to explore, grow, and be nurtured in a safe environment. This is too much for one individual to do, but it is definitely possible if as a society we believe that our kids are worth it, worth the time, energy, resources, and commitment necessary. Just saying we believe it is not enough; we must be willing to act on that belief.
