Free Download And Print Individual Child Sociogram
The individual child sociogram form allows you to document the interactions and relationships between a specific child and a group of peers or adults. A sociogram is a visual representation of social interaction and relationships. This tool is helpful in understanding the social network of an individual child.
The form includes a key with a variety of symbols and color codes, as well as space to add your own.
Completing The Sociogram
To complete the sociogram, first add your name and the date to the header. Then enter the name of the child you’re focusing on to the center circle.
The next step is to add other people to the form: circles for children, squares for adults. Space them out.
Finally, and this may take a while, illustrate the interactions and relationships between the child you’re focusing on and the others using symbols, color coding, and other notations. With this form, the focus should be on the child in the center circle. If you want to diagram the social relationships of a group, use the Classroom Sociogram.
You can make your sociogram wide-ranging or focus on specific interactions or aspects of relationships. This example focuses on who initiates conversation and how frequently that happens.
This example covers a lot of ground.
