Quote

Children need to do stuff and see what happens, to observe cause and effect in their world. They need to build with blocks and watch them fall down and hear the noise they make; they need to hold something delicate and learn to keep it safe, or find out what happens if they don’t keep it safe; they need to jump from someplace a little scary and see how it feels when they land; they need to say something in a conversation and see how people respond. Every action is a little experiment in how the world works.
