Vygotsky believed that learning occurred in this zone of proximal development and that the role of education is to provide children with experiences within their ZPD. In this zone, children can accomplish things with help of what Vygotsky referred to as a More Knowledgable Other. This refers to an adult, peer, younger person, or even technology with more knowledge, understanding, or ability
about the task at hand.
