Free 10 Temperament Traits Handout
This free handout looks at 10 temperament traits and is based on research conducted by Alexander Thomas and Stella Chess.
Temperament refers to traits that govern one’s behavior, engagement with others, and responses to the world. These traits are mostly inborn but can be influenced by culture and life experience. Each trait ranges across a continuum, for example, from Low to High physical activity. Temperament Traits are not good or bad, they just are. Awareness of where individuals fall on each continuum offers insights into understanding and interacting with them.
