As engaging loose parts, whimsically expressive googly eyes add a playful touch to children’s play environments. These small, adhesive-backed eyes may inspire imaginations and bring creativity to art projects, crafts, and imaginative play scenarios—but mostly, they are just silly fun.
For example, affixing googly eyes to drawings or embellishing handmade puppets with them brings the creations to life.
I have to admit a bias for googly eyes. Here at The Snuggery, my wife and I have anthropomorphized the flat-screen TV, kitchen trash can, refrigerator, washer and dryer, SodaStream, my Kindle, and other appliances and furnishings with googly eyes.
