Flagging tape is a durable non-adhesive ribbon used for marking objects. It’s most commonly made of plastic (PVC or Vinyl) but biodegradable options exist. It’s available in a wide range of bright colors and patterns.
This stuff is great for child initiated craft projects, tinkering and construction projects, STEM play and more. You’ll find a couple colors at your local big box home center, but probably have to shop online for rolls of the patterned stuff and more colors (affiliate links).
Back in my family child care days, we always had a few rolls ready and waiting for whatever the kids decided they needed it for. It was frequently used for everything from scissor practice to building forts.
