What Is Family Child Care
Family Child Care is child care that takes place in a provider’s home. Also known as In Home Child Care, this type of care is generally regulated by the state in which the program operates, but such programs may not have to be licensed. These programs may or may not include an educational component. Such programs traditionally tended to offer a more family-like environment than center based care programs, but in recent years some family child care programs have tried to mirror the environment of center based programs.
