Relational aggression is when a person threatens to discontinue their friendship or tells others not to be friends with that person. Usually this is held as a threat if the victim does not do their bidding. This type of aggression is often overlooked by teachers because it is harder to spot, either because the aggression does not result in a loud conflict or simply because the teacher does not recognize it as aggression (Smith-Bonahue, Smith-Adcock, and Ehrentraut 2015).
