Use the weekly classroom play schema tally sheet to track which play schemas children are interested in during a given week. This information helps determine what the group is interested in and what loose parts would best support those interests. You’ll find additional schema play posts here.

Completing The Classroom Play Schema Tally Sheet

Completing this tally form is simple. Just add a tally mark in the corresponding box each time a child is observed investigating one of the nine schemas. At the end of the week, you’ll have a record of what they were up to that week and a fair idea of what they’ll be interested in during the coming week. You can also add short notes about what you observe.
