Use the weekly child play schema tally sheet to track which play schemas individual children are interested in during a given week. This information is helpful in determining what kids are interested in and what loose parts would best support those interests. You’ll find additional schema play posts here.
Completing The Child Play Schema Tally Sheet
Completing this tally form is simple. Start by entering the names of the children you intend to track across the top of the observation form. Then just add a tally mark in the corresponding box under a child’s name each time they are observed exploring that schema. At the end of the week, you’ll have a record of what they were up to that week and a fair idea what they’ll be interested in during the coming week.
