Bungee straps are more like dependable friends than loose parts to kids wanting to connect Thing A to Thing B–or maybe bundle up Things C-Z.
These things were not readily available back in the day when I was running around with neighborhood kids trying to build clubhouses and forts out of branches. We had to lash our supporting branches together with kite sting or bits of rope we’d run across. Eight-year-old Jeff never encountered bungee straps and would have stared–slack jawed in disbelief–if Future Jeff had arrived and demonstrated one.
Kids eight and younger (and older) who love to build, haul, construct, fiddle, and experiment with the physical world will love these things.
