Quote

The means by which offenses are tallied, explained, and managed vary widely, but there is general agreement that boys create more tension in a classroom than girls and that it has somehow to do with physical momentum. Webster’s definition of momentum—“a property of a moving body that determines the length of time required to bring it to rest when under the action of a constant force”—seems custom-made for boys. Their unique combination of motion and aggressive fantasy is the “constant force,” and the time required to bring them “to rest” is the problem in the classroom.
