Books should be everywhere. Including in your block area. Books will help get the creative juices flowing. The can help children decide on a play narrative. Books on construction or about buildings are a nice start, but go beyond that. For example adding books of fairy tales to the block are may set the stage for playing out the stories with blocks. Plus, books make great roofs for buildings.
