Quote

Thoughtful mothers and fathers often wonder when children should start making their own decisions and begin to think for themselves. There is no single starting and stopping place. Rather, the process is a gradual one that begins during the child’s first two or three years and may vary widely from child to child. Within the limits of his ability to reason and to be responsible for consequences, the child should be permitted to practice decision-making early. Yet parents should not let their child be rushed.
