Quote

Imagine that someone was caring for you and, without the benefit of conversation, had to figure out what you needed throughout the day and evening. Set aside the logic that your hunger usually arrives like clockwork—at 7:00, 12:00, and 7:00—and that you are always sleepy by 10:00. What if you were desperate for food but your caregiver guided you to your bed? How frustrating it would be if you wanted to rest but your caregiver offered you something to eat instead. Your true needs would remain unfulfilled, and you would be unable to fully relax and trust in your caregiver’s ability to accurately care for you.
