We certainly can’t know what is intriguing to a baby at any particular moment, so it’s important for the baby to follow her own curiosities and see where they take her. Imagine that you’re curious about a camera and thoroughly absorbed in trying to understand how it works. How would you feel if someone interrupted you to say something unimportant or unrelated or began to give you a lesson on the camera’s lenses? Do you suppose you’d want to stop your exploration to listen to the tutorial, or do you think you’d prefer to carry on making your own discoveries?
