Young children can be overwhelmed easily when faced with too many choices. Evidence for this appears every day at Disney World or Disneyland, where kids begin crying at some point in the afternoon— at the happiest place on earth. Why? They are overwhelmed. Too many options. Too much stimulation. Far too many choices to make. On an everyday basis, many educated mothers want very much to let their children choose; and in trying to make their children happy, they might just pose too many questions. The consequences of “too many questions” show up in bad choices, moodiness, anger, and an inability to choose on the child’s part.
