
About Alison Gopnik
Alison Gopnik (1955-) is an American author and professor of psychology and affiliate professor of philosophy at the University of California at Berkeley. Gopnik’s research primarily focuses on young children’s cognitive development and casual learning. Her work “is informed by the ‘theory theory-’ the idea that children develop and change intuitive theories of the world in much the way that scientists do” (Gopnik, 2016).
She is the author of numerous articles and several books, including:

- The Scientist in the Crib: What Early Learning Tells Us About the Mind
- The Gardener and the Carpenter: What the New Science of Child Development Tells Us About the Relationship Between Parents and Children
