  1. Thank you so much. You both are brilliant and lovely. Regarding staff relationships, in my own setting, it’s absolutely necessary given the very intimate nature of the setting. (only 3 employees in pretty tight quarters)…and given the emotional intensity and challenges of the job, everyone will at some point become triggered. Given the amount of self awareness and emotional energy required, the workplace being a safe place is absolutely imperative. I’m so happy that you touched on the nuance of recognizing when people are making progress as well as the aspect of having trusting relationships with one another. I do a lot of modeling for my staff. When I do need to make a direct correction, it is taken much more constructively. The whole field is such an overlap of professional and personal with children, families, and staff. It’s a requirement at a deep level in order to do our jobs properly, right? It can be a tricky dance…
