Windsocks are loose parts that help young children bump up against other non-physical loose parts like wind speed, wind direction, cardinal directions, motion, force, aerodynamics, weather, measurement, natural forces, and more. Installing one or two in an easily observable location can spark curiosity and questions that may lead in many directions.
Remember, loose parts do not have to be things kids can hold in their hands. They are simply environmental variables with which they can interact.
