…many “interruptions” to a classroom are actually children investigating: How far can I lean back on my chair? What happens if I throw this toy? How much toilet paper can fit in the drain? Children have an endless desire to explore. We can try to restrict this as teachers, knowing it is a hopeless pursuit. Or we can give them an environment rich in open-ended materials and let them explore.
