Children have an innate curiosity and desire to move. They may crawl over to investigate a new sound they hear on the other side of the house or across the lawn. If something catches their eye, such as a colorful bug crawling on a tree just out of their reach, they may pull themselves to standing to get a closer look. This motivation to learn about the world around them propels them forward, activating the muscles as they go.
