People with an external locus of control believe that their lives are controlled by external factors such as the environment or fate, which they have little influence over. What drives them is coming from the outside, and they can’t change it. We are all affected by our surroundings, culture, and social status, but how much we feel we can control our lives despite those factors is the difference between internal and external locus of control.
