Praise-dependent children will look to the adult for constant assurance and approval. If assurance and approval are not forthcoming, praise-dependent children tend to back off from their own ideas and become anxious or fearful of taking chances or making mistakes….On the other hand, children who have not come to depend on praise tend to affirm their own answers internally, are willing to take a chance, and set about fixing their mistakes.
