Don’t trash puzzles that have lost a few pieces, give the puzzle pieces a new life as loose parts. I’ve seen them used as cereal, gold coins, and ‘pretend sand’ in dramatic play. I’ve also seen them sorted, stacked, arranged, glued, launched, traced, and more by happily engaged children. Saving these things from the trash and giving them a new life adds variety to your play space.
